MEs Metaverse: "MEs Chan" In-Game Avatar Characters

Following initial concepts provided by a designer I was responsible for the entire 3D asset creation pipeline for MEs Metaverse in game avatars coined MEs Chans. The concept art feature a masculine and feminie version of juvenile alien-like creatures meant to expore about the strange and mysterials worlds inside of MEs.

Tasks included, modeling, UV, texturing, rigging, skin weighting, blink blend shapes, surface shader development and finally some in Unreal animation implementations. Further work done in Unreal included, dynamic color variant implementations, creation of physics bodies/constraints for intended spring bone additions for portions of the clothes hair and shoes as well as re-targeting and manual key frame adjustment of some basic locomotion and emote animations available from Unreal Marketplace. After several iterations of the face we finally settled on an A-Chan (male-like) and B-Chan (female-like) creature design we could all agree on as cute.

Currently in game you may only play as B-Chan though A-Chan does exist and may become available in future builds. All avatar related implementations are still currently under development as we navigate additional features to lock in as the software progresses.
