XDefiant: Character Skins - Samir Spectra

Character skin work that I completed while working on the FTP shooter XDefiant. This time around after the open arms approval of my previously created Cleaner Morgan Spectra skin and essentially the green light from higher ups on creating more character skins in this newly developed line, concept art was given the go a head to start developing more skin ideas using this final look I created for this skin line. After getting their attempt at a concept from my Lead Character Artist - Takahashi-san, I requested permission to make any alterations I deemed appropriate in order to maximally utilize areas where we could display the hologram displacement effect while retaining the illusion that there is actually a skeleton inside of the model. Unknown to concept art there is a tiny draw back with using parallax offset displacement shader; UV borders are their greatest enemy. So in an attempted to combat UV borders which would break the illusion and to fulfill the one solemn request/challenge to retain a 360 degree view of the chest rib cage, I took measures to ensure UV seams over the buttock and crotch were shielded and to fade out the height map on any funky areas around the chest. This time work was straight forward as I had previously already made all the substance materials, surface shaders and input maps for the gem stones recycled straight over from my work on the first generation character using this same skin.
