Hatsune Miku 2077: Robotonomous AI - Racecar & Character w/ Helmet Project

Huge thanks to the artist 合菓- for his/her lovely illustration of Hatsune Miku which I incorporated into the car and suit design

Please check out and support this artist's work.

I could not find the source of the artist who created the Miku chan gif animation found on the racecars status LED screen. If you know whose work it is please send me the link so I can credit the usage.

The main 3D texturing and modeling work work:
Race driver firesuit created from scratch using Maya, Zbrush, Substance, rigged in CC4, and imported to UE5. Bell F1 spec helmet** started from a slightly broken cad file. Ginetta-Juno p3-15 based circuit race car shell** started off from an initial very broken cad file. Full suspension, drivetrain including rotor and brake calipers and interior were made from scratch and the outer hull was completely re-topologized and UVed by hand. Baked and textured in substance.

**Items were developed from broken cad files

Completion Times:
Firesuit: 1.5 Weeks
Helmet: 1.25 Weeks
Vehicle: 1 Month
CC4 Avatar Creation: 2 days (morphs and hair setup work)
Environment: 2 days (bashed in a flash)
Troubleshooting: 3 days

Polycounts all game ready realtime targeted assets. Renders are just screen grabs from unreal.

The helper assets:
CC4 was used to create an initial base avatar including the hair modular assets for the nude character model. All environment pieces besides the racecar are all various kit bashes, UE5 Starter Blockout Kit custom pieces, and Brushify.io for a few terrain features.

Sci-Fi texture decals pack added for some smaller details and flair on the vehicle, character and environment. :https://www.artstation.com/marketplace/p/dWVM/sci-fi-tech-decals-super-pack-of-70.

Hatsune Miku's iconic headset accessory was taken from a freely available asset off the booth jp storefront:

After months of being fascinated over advancements in robotics and AI over the last few years I decided to make a piece which combined the eventual pathway we head down if we let robots do everything for us. Imagine a dystopian future where flying cars are still not a thing and motorsports with live humans has been deemed too risky and down regulated to only professionally trained humanoid robots operating all electric vehicles.

Living in Japan the lure of combining Hatsune Miku - the most overly hyped up non-autonomous "AI" and manifesting it as a real robot coupled with putting a representative face as a more "humanized" approach to the latest tech we have achieved in AI driving/driverless racing I have created the most ideal "mascot" should Good Smile Racing ever decide to go full on Robotonomous (Robot-Autonomous). The irony, A.I. was not used at all in the creation of this piece. Still old school, and manually done where its in my discipline to do so.

I don't own any rights to Hatsune Miku, the racing organization Good Smile Racing/Good Smile Company, or any of the real world sponsor labels used in this personal art piece.
